Montgenèvre.......... Winter

At an altitude of 1860m located on the French / Italian border and a short driving distance from Turin (1hr 15m).

Montgenèvre enjoys one of the best snow records in France and is ideally positioned as a gateway to the expansive "Milky Way" ski circuit boasting over 400km of pisted runs, the main site for alpine events at the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics. It has recently seen great investments and has a nice selection of bars / restaurants and shops with a local market every Wednesday.

There are ski areas both sides of the village and two new chairlifts have provided improved links and circulation of its ski areas, Montgenèvre provides both skiers and snowboarders with open-wide pistes to lush snow filled tree runs and valleys. Take them as you wish. Guided tours to great accessible off-piste runs or a wee stroll over the border into Italy for lunch. Alternative activities include the cinema, ice skating, evening snow-shoe walks, snow mobile tours which can include night time mountain meals in Italy. All of which can be organised by us.

The slopes are well suited to beginners and intermediates. Montgenèvre offers 83 slopes, 110kms of pistes served by 31 lifts.
