Montgenèvre in the Summer

Boasting 300 days of sunshine a year, this mountain village really transforms itself during the summer months. From blooming flowers, forests and wildlife to altitude lakes and peaks, Montgenèvre has lots to offer...

Mountain bike enthusiasts of all abilities will not be disappointed. Whether it's adrenaline fuelled ramps and jumps to winding forest trails. With three of its chairlifts open, Montgenèvre offers access to its higher walking trails and mountain bike park (1860m – 2500m) and the Summer Luge (Toboggan Rail Glide).

Golfers can play the 9 hole, par 36 golf course which follows the winter's lower ski slopes down towards Clavière, where it is possible to complete an 18 hole round by taking on the 9 holes in Italy. The club house also offers a driving range and compact 9 hole pitch and putt as well as staging regular competitions and professional instruction.

Ramblers and the more serious hikers (the registered route GR5 passes through the village) can discover the spectacular scenery, forts and local history on many of the marked paths. Take time out by the swimming pool, play tennis, volleyball and enjoy the thrill of the Adventure Park and its high ropes or relax and fish at the lake.

And if that isn't enough, neighbouring villages are very close to explore. Les Alberts and the Valley de la Clarée have beautiful river walks and scenery or the forts and old town of Briançon, a recently announced UNESCO site.
